Words Do Hurt

Well you know the saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words may never hurt me" that my friends is an out and out lie straight from the pit of hell. Yes, sticks and stones do break bones but the part where it says "but words may never hurt me" that isn't true. Words do hurt they may not break a bone or draw blood, they do however can break your heart and hurt your feelings.
I don't know about anyone else but I can gess there isn't anyone out there that hasn't been hurt at least once with words. It may have been a rude word or a words. It may have been something someone said to you innosencely not meaning it in a mean way but it still hurt.

Paslm 19:14  Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.

As I read this verse I was thinking what a wonderful world this would be if everyone lived by this verse. How nice it would be to think before speaking and when speaking knowing in your heart that your words were always pleasing to God. I know that is just a dream but a dream that one day will come true, the day when we all meet in Heaven.
So why not have a little touch of heaven now and watch what you say to others, think before you speak and see the difference that it makes in your life and the lives of others.

PS
Also watch what you say when you think no-one is listening because just when you think that there is on-one listening someone is, God.

Leftovers

Well everyone is doing it so I thought that I would give it a try. Here goes "my first Blog"

Usually after eating lunch or dinner there is some food leftover that is either put in the fridge or thrown in the garbage.  At our house we have a teenager so it there is any leftovers he usually eats them up before going to bed or before going to school in the morning. I know leftovers for breakfast is weird but that is a teenager for ya and ya gotta love them no matter what.
So what happens to those leftovers that don't get eaten? Well here they are put in the compose bucket and on Wednesdays the garbage man comes along and takes it. Where it goes from there I am not sure. But I thought that I would check it out on the net and this is what I found.

The compost is screened to remove any plastics or contaminants and then placed outdoors to mature for the final composting stage.  At this point the material is still breaking down but at a much slower rate and at lower temperatures to produce the finished, stabilized material we all recognize at our local nursery as compost. Once complete the compost is tested to ensure it meets the strict guidelines set out by the Ministry of the Environment. The finished product is then used in a variety of applications including horticultural and agricultural use, land reclamation and roadside erosion control.

I know that was a tidbit of information that probably doesn't interest you but for me it was. I say all this to say this. We do not need to remove all the things in our lives that are not good for us before we give our Hearts to Jesus. We need to get right with God and let His Holy Spirit work those things out so that God gets the praise and the Glory as your life changes before your eyes. God  prefers to have all our hearts and and lives not what is leftover from all the other things in our lives. So don't put Him in the fridge as you would your leftovers and then if not eaten then thrown in the compose to be grinded up for  roadside erosion control. Put Jesus first in your life and all other things where they belong.
