Light In The Darkness

At work today I was in a cooler moving around some product with my forklift, then all of the sudden the lights went out. I usually have my lights on when I am on the forklift but for some reason I didn't at this time. The lights only flashed off for a split second but for that split second I was in total darkness. I reached down and turn my forklift headlights on and there I was back into the light.
At that time I had remembered what it was like to be sitting in darkness not know there was a way out. Till one day I had decided to give my heart, my life to the Lord and it was just like a light was turned on and all darkness was slowly disappearing as God's light starting shinning through. You know what it is like when it is lighten outside after dark, how the sky lights up and you can see for miles. Well picture that in slow motion and that is how it was when I let God's light shine into my darkness.
Light not only reveals, and measures, but light energizes too.  It imparts life, it activates, it quicken

Phillip Brooks said
"When the sun rose this morning it found the world in darkness, torpid and heavy and asleep, with powers all wrapped up in sluggishness; with life that was hardly better or more alive than death.

"The sun found this great sleeping world and woke it. It bade it to be itself. It quickened every slow and sluggish faculty. It called to the dull streams and said, 'Be quick;' to the dull birds and bade them sing; to the dull fields and made them grow; to the dull men and bade them think and talk and work.

"It flashed electric invitations to the whole mass of sleeping power which really was the world and summoned it to action. It did not make the world. It did not start another set of processes unlike those which had been sluggishly moving in the darkness. It poured strength into the essential processes which belonged to the very nature of the earth. It glorified, intensified, fulfilled the earth. "

That happens every morning. That is what God does. God is light and God intensifies, fulfills, and glorifies our essential humanity. He does not destroy it. He takes it and leads it on through the darkness into an ever-growing experience of life and vitality and productivity. Many all over the earth have lost this vision, and for them life has become dead and dull and meaningless, filled with increasing despair.

The New Living Translation John 1:5---The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

So this is the song I have been sing today

Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness.
Opened my eyes, let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You

Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
All together worthy,
All together wonderful to me

God has not promised there will always
be sunshine in our lives,
but He has promised that His light
will always be before us.

PS
Remember darkness conceals and Light reveals

Words Do Hurt

Well you know the saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words may never hurt me" that my friends is an out and out lie straight from the pit of hell. Yes, sticks and stones do break bones but the part where it says "but words may never hurt me" that isn't true. Words do hurt they may not break a bone or draw blood, they do however can break your heart and hurt your feelings.
I don't know about anyone else but I can gess there isn't anyone out there that hasn't been hurt at least once with words. It may have been a rude word or a words. It may have been something someone said to you innosencely not meaning it in a mean way but it still hurt.

Paslm 19:14  Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.

As I read this verse I was thinking what a wonderful world this would be if everyone lived by this verse. How nice it would be to think before speaking and when speaking knowing in your heart that your words were always pleasing to God. I know that is just a dream but a dream that one day will come true, the day when we all meet in Heaven.
So why not have a little touch of heaven now and watch what you say to others, think before you speak and see the difference that it makes in your life and the lives of others.

PS
Also watch what you say when you think no-one is listening because just when you think that there is on-one listening someone is, God.

Leftovers

Well everyone is doing it so I thought that I would give it a try. Here goes "my first Blog"

Usually after eating lunch or dinner there is some food leftover that is either put in the fridge or thrown in the garbage.  At our house we have a teenager so it there is any leftovers he usually eats them up before going to bed or before going to school in the morning. I know leftovers for breakfast is weird but that is a teenager for ya and ya gotta love them no matter what.
So what happens to those leftovers that don't get eaten? Well here they are put in the compose bucket and on Wednesdays the garbage man comes along and takes it. Where it goes from there I am not sure. But I thought that I would check it out on the net and this is what I found.

The compost is screened to remove any plastics or contaminants and then placed outdoors to mature for the final composting stage.  At this point the material is still breaking down but at a much slower rate and at lower temperatures to produce the finished, stabilized material we all recognize at our local nursery as compost. Once complete the compost is tested to ensure it meets the strict guidelines set out by the Ministry of the Environment. The finished product is then used in a variety of applications including horticultural and agricultural use, land reclamation and roadside erosion control.

I know that was a tidbit of information that probably doesn't interest you but for me it was. I say all this to say this. We do not need to remove all the things in our lives that are not good for us before we give our Hearts to Jesus. We need to get right with God and let His Holy Spirit work those things out so that God gets the praise and the Glory as your life changes before your eyes. God  prefers to have all our hearts and and lives not what is leftover from all the other things in our lives. So don't put Him in the fridge as you would your leftovers and then if not eaten then thrown in the compose to be grinded up for  roadside erosion control. Put Jesus first in your life and all other things where they belong.
